Rhonda Lauritzen
Rhonda Lauritzen is a professional biographer with multiple published books. She specializes in life stories, collecting oral history, and historical storytelling. She earned an MBA from the University of Utah and was selected as the Outstanding Graduate in her undergrad major. Before she founded Evalogue.Life in 2016, she served as a college marketing director, Vice President, and a corporate CEO. In 2007, her writing journey began with her parents’ family business saga, which became her first book. Since then, she has been hired to help tell the stories of families, cities, and nonprofits. She believes that when you tell your story, it changes the ending. This is why her passion is teaching, coaching, and presenting at conferences.

How long will this class take?
This is a live 6-week class. The prepared instruction will run for 90 minutes with the recording on, and there will be another 30 minutes of discussion afterward.
Is this self-paced?
No! This is a cohort-style live class with a lot of interaction with the group. Each class will offer a prepared instruction plus group coaching.
What is included in this course?
There will be: 6-weeks of live instruction/group coaching; a closed FaceBook group so class members can network plus a bonus self-paced online course, and a live half-day workshop entitled "Sensitive Subjects, writing about the hard stuff."
What if I miss a session or if the time doesn't work for me?
We hope you can join us live, but the sessions will be recorded. If you miss a class or want a refresh, you can go back and watch the replay. I've had students successfully complete the instruction by watching all the replays when the time did not work well for them.
What level of writer should I be?
This is a beginner course to help you learn how to craft a meaningful story, whether it be in a professional setting to convey your values, to write a video script with heart, or craft a meaningful family history story. It is great if you have already done some family history writing, but this class assumes that you do not consider yourself already a pro. The students in this class are all professionals in one way or another, but may not have every charged for a job, or may not consider writing to be their strong suit. As a bonus in this course, I'll walk you through what it looks like to do professional feel work, even if you've never done anything like this before. This course will help you level up your skills so you can share more powerful stories in many different settings.
What will happen after the course ends?
We have established a professional mentoring group which you may choose to join following this class.
How much are you going to share about your business?
We plan to open our methods and model, including how we organize price our professional projects and how we find new clients. This can get you thinking about how to grow your own professional work.
Will there be a certification at the end?
This 6-weeks will cover an introductory level to help you get started. There will be no official certification offered, but our current members have requested a certification, so we anticipate creating that in the future for our members.
